The Church As Community
Bushnell Congregational Church in Detroit, Mi has entered
a remarkable Renaissance. A period of renewed life of spirit and belief
and faith in an awesome God. Our mission is clear: To offer to "All
Who Will Come" a place that is warm, welcoming and non judge mental
so that we can worship and learn to walk closer to God in the Here and Now.
We are a people of all backgrounds and cultures traveling on a continuum
that we call our "faith walk". And though we look different and
don't always agree we know that fundamentally we are one people worshipping
one God. We are family. Our Sunday Services and Wednesday Bible Study Classes
are open to all. Our many outreach programs such as our food bank, homeless
shelter, families in crisis center and our tri-lingual day care center are
examples of what is possible when a church community is united.
We have expanded our web presence to include
Web 2.0 technologies that allow us to join together in prayer and fellowship
online. The Bushnell Blog, Newsletter, Forums and Podcasts are all part
of our resurgence as a Web 2.0 church taking our missions to the World
Wide Web.. Our invitation to you is to visit us when you can. We are
located at the corner of Grand River and Southfield Freeway (service
drive) in Detroit, MI, USA.
Our church calendar of events is getting
full for the 2008-2009 season. We are thrilled to have the Rosedale
Community Players in Residence at the Church. They perform 3 major
plays during their regular season. We are planning several musical events
under he direction of Dr. Norah Duncan
IV. Norah is one of the most celebrated musicians of our time and will
be performing and leading concerts and musical showcases throughout the
year. For more information contact the Community Development Center office
at 313.272.3550

including prayer partners, our online web ministry and his signature
